Ruby Red is a one-woman design studio, owned by Pennsylvania-born Linda Misiura. She believes that good design is good business and aims to help small to medium sized businesses solve problems through clean, modern, simple design.
Now that we’ve been introduced, let me switch to first person… As a small business owner, I know how many hats you have to wear to get your idea off the ground. I am also firm believer on knowing your limits and hiring professionals when the time is right. DIY can only get you so far, and when the future of your company and your professional image is at stake, it’s high time to bring in help to develop your brand.
And it is “help.” Breathing good design and marketing into your business is an intensive process that demands dedication, thought, and research together as a team. After all, you know your business best. It’s my job to gather what you think you need, add in information about your clients and your competition, and distill that into a look that is focused on your audience, but still retains the essence of you.
It sounds like a lot of work… because it is. But I have the knowledge and wherewithal to guide you through the process of design and marketing for both the online and print worlds.
Skills: the Adobe Create suite, typography, color theory, content development & making you memorable
Education: I studied English, Communication and Writing at Cedar Crest College and have my Masters in Interactive Media from Elon University.
Passion: Sustainability and recycling. I have a tendency to unplug everything, including lamps, which makes the falling of night quite interesting.
Likes: the color red & the color green, fresh-brewed coffee, used bookshops, punctuation, fonts, maps, and dogs! I love dogs. And red wine and food in general…I really like to eat. But nothing with HFCS.
Dislikes: Socks with holes, rain for more than three days, websites that look like they haven’t been updated since 1999, conformity, and cheese
